Just google a picture of a 1990 proof cent and you will see the difference between that coin and yours.
just did about now, I figured to but I came across a video stating that a proof can happened to be in circulation so I got curious thanks for the feedback sir.
If you are new to collecting, do yourself a favor and stay away from youtube videos. 99/100 times those things are absolute garbage. Read through threads here and on other reputable sites.
yes my grandson felt the same way should've listen lol but were both learning a lot from here we appreciate the time everyone who comes across our post and spreads knowledge!
Once in a rare while, there is something worth viewing on YouTube, but for the most part, it still remains BoobTube for me. Chris
Look, there are very few of these coins (around 400?), ALL in proof sets. OK maybe one time, someone broke the set open and spent the coins. But finding one in circulation is not happening. Compare your coin to what the 1990 no S Proof coin looks like. (See the difference?)
Jesus your cent is actually a very nice early die state. And the photos make it look semi PL. There are certain characteristics that proofs have that Business strikes do not. 1 Proofs are well known to have extremely sharp strikes and squared rims. Squared rims the third side- will be sharp and not beveled, because of this it will look thicker than a normal BS. 2 The surfaces have a mirrored surface and the devices IE Lincoln/ Memorial lettering and date will have a frost or texture. (not always a big contrast but enough to tell a difference.) https://coins.ha.com/itm/a/1257-3488.s https://www.davidlawrence.com/product/1731460/
I have found the only thing YouTube is good for concerning coins are videos showing how coins are minted. Those are very educational.
