This is clearly a large date. The 2 is damaged, but look at the distance from the 2 to the rim. The large date is much closer to the rim.
It's is a small date , philedelphia mint. You want the copper Denver small date. A zinc philedelphia small date in mint condition may get like five or 10 buck if my research is correct. I'm no expert and am wrong more than I am correct
I've never heard that, I'll check into it. I do know I come across alot more 68 and 69 pennies from Denver than I do philedelphia .aybe philedelphia struck fewer those years. As far as die varieties go, there are a ton DDOs from 1968D, it seems like every 1968 d I find idoubled hubbing, I don't even keep them anymore. I have a few 1964 Phili mint pennies that are DDO/DDR but there are like 20 or more ddo varieties for that year/mint. I'll do a little digging on those years.
Like I said I've started an album feel free to check it out.let me know what you think and thanks for the conversation
So, there were 1,136,000 minted in Philadelphia in 1969 and 4,002,000 at Denver that year. Both are relatively low mintages I would think when compared to the proceeding year. Sam Francisco struck 544,375,000 in 1969. And philedelphia was the only mint to strike pennies in 1967 but it was a considerably high amount , over 3 billion coins struck. Typically San Francisco always struck far fewer coins than the other mints, not sure why that is but I've always been a little curious, sounds like another research activity. Here's the other numbers I found. ..................... 1968 D 2,886,269,000 1968 P 1,707,880,000 1968 S 258,270,000 .................................. 1967 P 3,048,667,000
