I've never seen one this bad. There is a Wheat mark on Lincolns face and the shinny space to the left of Lincolns head appears to me to have the same profile as the back of his head and shoulder. Just rotated. Does anyone see anything else? SingleShot0000.jpg SingleShot0000.jpg

Ok. How does glue account for this?

Soak it in acetone and see if it comes off.

Glue several cents together with something like white school glue and break them apart. I think that part of what we are seeing is just damage.

If it's not glue, will acetone affect the patina of the coin?

It's possible it will. When you remove stuff on a coin, the color of the surface may be different.

Sorry, but your coin has some type of residue adhered to the surface. Over time the discoloration that occurred also discolored the residue. Your coin is not an error, it’s PMD

Everything you see as 'different' on your cent
occurred to it well after it was already in circulation.

Were they correct? The R in liberty is missing or damaged?

That's the last of your problems on this coin. That glue is real stubborn, too, if it's the kind I've come across. I think I had to use a crowbar on one of mine, I don't recall, lol.

I retired and I'm learning. Thanks for the input.
