U can see the outline of the head quite well on the reverse...not much to see on the front. This was picked from my local pawn shop for 2$,looks AU/BU. Rly nice bands.

    I think that's called indirect design transfer. Don't think it's a clash.

Im pretty sure it is a clash, the overlay example matches it perfect, some of the finer details cant be seen with these pics from my phone

I have also seen folks use the term ghosting. Not sure if that is even a proper term. Better images may change my mind. I'm used to seeing a more bold look to a clash.

+1 the second photo of the reverse where you can’t see any clash, plus the mushiness of the top right part on the reverse makes me think indirect design transfer as well. http://www.error-ref.com/progressive-indirect-design-transfer/

This is more of what I call a clash. Note the clear lines of the profile.

Yes to PIDT. A form of die deterioration. But can also be a die that did not harden to the correct strength.

it's ghosting as stated, not a clash..

I'm also with ghosting. Canadian large cents were very prone to these and if you look up some examples on the web you will better see the effect.

Not a clash but indirect design transfer or ghosting. Nice find.
