Amazing. I’ve only ever found one silver quarter in the wild and it was at a coinstar. I watched a YouTube video where a bank teller (also coin roll hunter) said he has worked at bank for years and he has never seen a silver quarter come through. And they apparently only carried “plastic sleeve” type rolls so he obviously saw a LOT of quarters but never a silver. I would say you would be lucky to find 1 per every 50 boxes roll hunting for silver quarters.

Yeah I'm in the military and the few banks around order halves.

I'm still waiting for my first silver dollar. After 7 years of CRH'ing I would've thought I would find one by now.

I found a silver dollar once in a teller tray. It was a silver blue Ike, but a silver dollar nonetheless, lol.

I want to one of my banks a few weeks ago to pick up some boxes. The teller had 3 ASE's she wanted to show me. She asked me what they were, she had no idea! You could imagine my face!! I told her they were "Silver" American Eagle Dollars. Worth much more then a dollar! I asked her where she got them? She told me an old man had just come in. He wanted 3 dollars for them. They both know they were dollars but had no idea about the silver content. She thought they were pretty and she know she wanted them.

She kept them for her kids. I missed the guy be 5 minutes. She said the guys was a regular customer. She said the next time he came in, she would ask him if he had any more. If he did, she would let me know. That's as close as I've gotten FF! : )

I have found about 8 silver dollars in the wild over the course of 3 occasions. I consider myself very fortunate, and still ask for dollar coins most times I am in a bank in hopes of scoring a few more.

For those who find boxes of halves regularly ordered by banks located on military installations, this is not the case on the military installation where I work. The bank here is located near the base shopping area and despite this, keeps very little coin on-hand, and will not order coin for customers. Every bank and cu are different as a result of management.

    HH all!

Stopped by the same bank as tuesday today at lunch.
They only had 1 CWR of halves. Scored a 68D 40%er and a 87P NFIC from the roll though.
Also bought a box of quarters and cents for this weekend.

I’ve been through four boxes of solid Lowell quarters and haven’t pulled one W yet. I’m getting frustrated. What do the wrappers look like of the rolls you're getting these from? And how are you getting 2019 boxes? Every bank I visit tells me they can’t order new coins; they only come mixed.

Stopped by a bank on my route yesterday at work and they had $13.50 in loose halves. This was in the mix. I think the teller noticed it and tried to keep it, because she only gave me $13 and I had to recount them in front of her and tell her I was short 50¢. Lol! What the wrappers look like makes no difference. They were spread throughout the US, so you just have to get lucky.

@1913LibertyHeadNickel They are just normal Loomis rolls because like @enamel7 said, the mint just sent them to the distribution cities in big ballistic bags to companies like Loomis and Brinks etc...

Today I just got a box of solid 2018-P Apostle Islands. Just the luck of the draw.

This is true, but I’ve watched a bunch of YouTube videos on the W quarter. It seems like you have to get rolls from and strain that saying $10 quarters across the road instead of at the ends, like the generic always do. These roles, I’m told, come directly from the US men’s and may contain W quarters. I watched a guy on YouTube open four rolls like this live on camera, and the first role contained 5 W quarters. The others didn’t contain any. I’ve heard from multiple sources that the generic roles, meaning the roles that just have orange tips that say $10 quarters On the ends, will not contain W quarters, or it is very unlikely that you will find a W quarter in these roles.

Step 1 - stop watching youtube for your coin information
Step 2 - just keep searching

FWIW - my rolls are Loomis wrapped though it really doesn't matter.

True...all banks and CUs have their own ways of ordering.

After a skunk streak of 5 Loomis Half Dollar boxes, I scored 2 x 40%ers from an NF String box (the flat box with holes in the bottom so you can verify all the rolls are present). I had gone to one of my usual supply banks today and they had two Loomis boxes instead of the usual one. Plus, the teller told me that a man turned in 3 of the NF String boxes unsearched. I bought the one (which was sealed) and it broke my skunk streak. Those that have read my previous posts about my opinions on coin processing companies know that I detest NF String boxes, but on a whim I bought this one due to my poor recent luck. I will probably buy the other two the guy brought in, one sealed the other opened and minus a couple rolls, lol.

I am up to 1,990 silver halves found while CRH. Man, these last twenty or so have been hard to find to get to 2,000!

Today was dump day for half my reject halves, which was about $800 worth. I was glad to be rid of them! I’ll dump the other half of the batch next week.

A different bank tonight had $60 in mwr halves. The teller told me he had never seen anyone buy so many halves. He has no idea who he was talking with!

The first roll held 4, 40%! The other rolls held only 2 impaired proofs. I’m happy!

Picked up a few boxes and straps from 2 banks this morning.
    Halves were skunk
Cents - 1 box solid 2019P, the other box is mixed and I haven't checked yet.
Quarters - 2 boxes gave up 4 more American Memorial "W"s and 1 Canadian.
