Hi, Sheila. I'm a short blonde also. I don't think this is a doubled die, but wait for others to tell you. I have discovered that most of the ones I think are suddenly are not once I wiggle my coin around in various lights. The lighting plays a trick on the eye. Hope this helps.
Pretty much. I just posted another one. LOL. This is The one that it is. http://doubleddie.com/1542214.html
I don't see doubled die. Sometimes lighting can create the illusion of doubling. If you stare at a coin for a long enough time, doubling will magically appear. If this were doubling, I would call it machine doubling, not a doubled-die.
Sorry, but you're wrong in this case. If you think it's md then you obviously don't know the difference.
To be clear, from the pictures, I don't see doubling period. If there were doubling (subjunctive tense), I would guess its machine doubling. If you see something different, that's fine, you may be right but I don't see it.
In this type of doubling it looks swollen, not like it does in regular doubling. Not the type with Serifs.
Take a look at single squeeze doubling. This is the type of doubling you will see on all new coins. The days of the 55P, 69S, 72P, 95P type doubling are gone.
Understood and thank you. When I went to the link, I did not see markers to determine which of the WDDO varieties your coin is, and I cannot tell from the pictures that it's a DDO. What variety do you attribute to this coin?
Die crack on top of forehead into the nose. And the die crack on the top of the sheild. You have to really look at Variety Vista website. It shows everything. http://varietyvista.com/01e LC Doubled Dies Vol 5/2015PDDO003 cent.htm
DDO-3. Nice picture of the die crack from forehead to nose. I didn't see that in the earlier pictures. Nice find! Thank you.
