    Normally it would start at the edge, correct? TIA

    Sorry for the late response, Mark.

    Here are some more pics. I just noticed something odd when I took them , the edge looks like it has a lip going around the majority of the coin. I would describe it as a step. TIA

    @Mark479
    Mark did you look at the link? What you have shown is only damage. There are many things that new folks may over look. What Mernskeeter pointed out was a variety having to do with Roosevelts lips. This photo isn't helping.
    As always photos from directly vertical are the best.
    How about one of the lips, nose, and neck. As clear as you can get. Rosies are known for MD especially on the profile.

    Yes, i saw the comment stating that it could be a hot lips variety. I thought these pictures were better. When I get home this evening I will take better (vertical) pics focusing on those areas.

    I ordered a usb scope today, hopefully i will receive it by the weekend. Tks, Mark

    I totally agree with you. My wonderment is how many different die states are there of the variety? These die states tell us a bunch about what is and what isn't a Variety.I just wonder if there are an matching markers. Maybe it is maybe it isn't.

    Unless you can get some detailed photos I am stuck with MD.
    It looks shelf like in your photos Mark.
    Less light at the right angle would help you with the details and better photo.

    No worries we are here to help.
