I'm not sure but it's my understanding that if you want it graded as a variety you have to request it to be labeled as such. SLQ experts can give you better info on this.

The coin is actually very well struck, just missing FH designation and the accompanying 2x premium. As the seller states, the shield is overpolished. The reference is to a 2004 book by Robert Knauss, which is available here, but I don't know anyone who collects SLQs by variety other than CPG varieties.
It does look like it could be an overpolished die. That does NOT create a new variety, just a later die stage. I wouldn't consider it to be worth any premium.
Yes-it's from an overpolished die, the same process that created the three legged buffalo. It is known as the "incomplete shield." The 1930 is the best known date.
No, they aren't varieties either. For that matter, neither are the "Bearded Goddess" half or the "Peeing Minuteman" quarter. Fancy nicknames do not turn a particular die state into varieties.
They aren't varieties and I don't believe they are worth the premiums asked for them. Personally I would not pay more than a few dollars for either one of them, and then only as curiosities. I do not feel they are needed in a collection.
Don't know if this will work or not, if it does notice the top edge of the shield is missing and bottom bar of the E above it is thin from the die polishing
