Roll-searchers, post your results!

Only been CRH for about two months. Today I went through $160 in quarters today. After finding nothing, I find this beauty,.. 1988-S Proof.

Only 2 silvers showed up in the last 8 boxes. The last box did give up 3 impaired proofs and a nice 1974-DDO. On to more boxes this week, good luck to all!

 

Just finished the last box of this past week’s pickup boxes. No silver, but a curved clipped planchet (my 3rd Kennedy) and another 1974-DDO. Past due for some silver!

I stopped by the bank with my favorite branch manager last night. As soon as she saw me she called out, "I have something for you!". She had set aside $220 in Ikes for me, though nothing of note was in them. I have not checked them for errors. I am sitting on over 1K Ikes now, so I need to get off my duff and do something with them. She's always very helpful, so I gave her a gift card to a local frozen yogurt shop (where my daughter happens to work), and she was thrilled. Relationships matter

I am considering placing an order for a few boxes of halves to see if I can get another Loomis cubicle box given they are good producers, but I am too darn busy at work/home at the moment so it'll have to wait.

Stopped by a different bank outside of my normal search radius today at lunch. Figured I'd pick up some dollar bills and quarters. Asked for $500 in singles and then if they had any halves....Turns out they just got their shipment for the week. After a bit of shock on the teller's part that I would want everything they had, I walked out with 4 boxes of halves. Looking forward to getting home this afternoon and searching with my kids.

 

Whelp, 4 skunk boxes of halves and 500 skunk dollar bills. Oh well. I will dump some at lunch and see if I can pick something else up.

Eh, The teller I talked to (who had the exact same name as me!) said that they get halves in their weekly orders. Seems that all the banks around me, besides my normal bank, get weekly half dollar orders. I'll head there at the end of the week when they should get their next order. Perhaps I will have better luck the 2nd time around.

 

I wish I could get 1box! Lol. Happy hunting friend!

 

Today was a good day, not so much for large quantities of silver, just for Variety of coins I pulled out. Its is always nice getting more 90%ers than 40%ers, I had one Bennie Ender, 54D, 2-64 Kennedy's, and 1-68. 3-Clad Proofs, 90S, 91S, and 93S, 9-NIFC, 1-08D, 1-11P, 2-13P, 2-14P, 1-15P and 2-17D's. Also had a nice mix of Foreign Coins, 1-82 Medio-Balboa Panama, 1-97 25 Centavos Guatemala, 1-1968 10 New Pence Great Britain, 1-1978 5 Franc France, and two Mexican 1-1977 UN Peso, and 1-1980 5 Peso. Definitely and interesting search. Two boxes out of four produced the silver. Hope everyone has a great week searching. Wishing you all Tons of Luck.

 

Been a long time since my last post. I’ve been beyond busy with my job. I have found a few things here and there. Over the course of the last two days I picked up $220 from a partial loomis box of halves and 1 CWR of halves. For a total of $230 in halves. Below are the photos. Totals were 7 90% including a beat to heck 2005 silver proof and 14 40%. Oh and this was my first ever half ender from a MWR

 

I was wondering what region of the country you are in. I’m in the southeast and have NEVER heard of a bank having halves as part of their weekly order. Every bank I’ve ever asked. At least 20 or more has said they don’t order them unless a customer makes a request. It’s awesome that banks around you do this.

 

They are few and far between. Going back at lunch tomorrow to see if they got more though.

 

Picked up 3 rolls of quarters today: found my very first silver in the second roll I opened! She may not be very pretty and she’s got battle scars, but I think I’ll keep her!

Congrats on the find though. Silver quarters are rarer than hen's teeth.

 

If you are near a military installation and have access (or know someone who does) you might try there...that’s the only bank I have found near me that regularly orders halves, and it’s mainly for a few customers that CRH.
