I like that look...on a peace dollar the color just hilights the images to pop. I would love to have an entire set in that grade in the look...if that makes sense...
It would, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it jumped to 55-58. The current holder allowed me to score it cheap!
Haha that's one of the things that's kinda hard when typing, emotions don't quite convey. I wasn't mad at all actually, despite what my reply might have sounded like. I was just saying I didn't know that acetone couldn't fix fingerprints if it's been a long time and then telling the OP not to try it because it wouldn't work. Sorry if I came across as upset
Hi, fairly new here. These arrived today, but I have a question. They were advertised as BU. They seem a little scratched up to me. Am I off target or are my expectations too high?
You have 3 nice Morgans yes true they do have some marks....so would you in a bag of 1000 being thrown around at the mint, bank etc.... yes all 3 are MS by my eye. Remember these are large coins and a 1000 s in a bag hitting one another you're going to have a few dings. Now that you have them go to vam world and learn how to vam a morgan..... and see exactly what you have purchased. The more knowlege you have in this hobby the more your passion will grow. Nice pick ups.... Paddy
Thanks, yes I guess I really didn't take that into consideration. VAM World. Wow, I have a lot to learn...
Well yes you do and remember knowlege is power! Glad I could be of assistance feel free to ask anytime you need a waypoint.
I showed it to my local coin shop and the girl said, yes, it was a proof. She said sometimes if they need the silver or have to many they will break up the set and dump the "non-silver" in with the regular change. She said she would save them for me at face value.
This must be the same reason I was able to buy 25 toned Proof Roosevelt dimes as a group for $2.75 - just 11 cents each.
