I really like your articles. Some are a bit short, but very informative. the Grand Budapest Hotel is my favorite film of all time and is still the one and only movie I have ever purchased on Blu-ray. I first watched it in 2016 on a plane from San Diego to Shanghai. The plane was loud and the subtitles were in Chinese, but I was sufficiently entranced to buy the movie and enjoy the English subtitles. I think your valuations on the Klubeck seem pretty good. I would like to get my hands on a few reproduction notes. Failing that, I can try to make some of my own if I can find suitable images to work from
Gerard van Loon : medallic history of the low countries http://www.coinbook.site/product/gerard-van-loon-medallic-history-of-the-low-countries/ NEW PUBLICATION: MEDALLIC HISTORY OF THE LOW COUNTRIES (1555-1716) by GERARD VAN LOON English translation directed by John Saunders and Hugo Vanhoudt The set of four volumes of our new publication MEDALLIC HISTORY OF THE LOW COUNTRIES tells the history of the Low Countries for the period 1555 – 1716, documented by medals, jetons and coins. The nature of the Van Loon books is iconic. We can think of no other books in the field of Numismatics, or any other discipline or science, where the leading reference books are nearly 300 years old and still in active current use. This is not only unprecedented but actually amazing. These volumes are so remarkable and important to both Numismatists and Historians that the original printing from the 1720’s are indeed still in regular use. Today, we present you the English translation of the original Dutch version in 4 volumes with full respect to all original drawings as they are each a piece of art. In addition we have added separately full color plates with medals, jetons and coins as they appear in the books. In an effort to make these books available to the largest audience possible, we have deliberately priced them well below other comparable publications in the field. The price for the total set of 4 volumes ( 1800 pages and full color plates) is only 160 euro or 200 USD (in USA).
I get the print version of Coin World because I don't carry my tablet with me when I go out. The people in my pew at church don't think it's proper for me to read it while the pastor is giving his sermon. I am a member of ANA, so I do get their electronic magazine. I like to read it on my tablet while my wife and I watch TV. I like being with her, so I let her watch the programs she wants to while I read my tablet. I'm sure that no one else his that problem, if you can call it that. Thanks to all.
Coming from you, I am even more inclined to subscribe. I don't know how I got on their mailing list, but I got an offer in the mail for two years for $50 (okay, $49.98 is the exact price; sighhhhh). They also offered me two years plus the weekly digital edition for $80 (sighhhhhh . . . $79.98). But I am not sure about the extra $30 for the weekly digital edition. As a dinosaur, I really don't enjoy reading lengthy stuff on the computer. I like something solid in my hands to read while sitting in the Lazy-Boy or taking public transportation into work. What's your opinion, @GSJMSP? And others, please. Have a terrific day! David
I'm seeing now I didn't read far enough. My reply was in regards to Coin World. I already subscribe to NN and WCN. Sorry.
I hate that you didn't include CoinAge. It's not as good as it was 40 years ago, but it was the magazine I read when I first got into collecting. Today I subscribe to Coin World. I like the printed copy. I'm just old like that.
https://www.independentcoinnews.com/ is a new Australian coin magazine - it's free and seems to be bi-monthly.
Which one would you order? I want one that’s good like Baseball Digest. If I’m spending money. I want the best
