I stopped collecting Jeffersons after 2006 from that point on the mint made Tom look like Bozo the clown....typical of modern US coins . I would not consider any nickel after the change as FS as again the design change pretty much makes all of them FS. Unless as posted damaged by hits on the steps. There is no comparison between between 30,40,50,60's full step specimens to any nickel minted after 2006. . The mint from the get go took an award winning design and destroyed it from the start....then tried to redesign a series for a new look and again of course failed misablely. I do believe NGC does a much better job of grading this series as to what it is supposed to be.
I dunno, handsome man, Corp. of discovery. Looseiana (purposely misspelled) Purchase. Inventor, thinker and botanist. A true Renaissance man.......
PCGS has been wrong before....as for the designation for full steps means just that ....so a nickel with a design that each coin is full steps unless damaged by again hits, bag marks, etc shouldn't be full steps FS?
It's very simple Ken ya throw peas in the water and when the fish comes up to take a pee ya club him!
t The example you provided is a very good example of FS. Nice, I don't have the answer right off hand. I am sitting mile high. And drinking Coors Light. Cheers. How many times has the mint reworked the dies? I can think of, I think Thirteen Die changes. @Lehigh96 has a 64 nickel thread. If Paul wants to post the thread. It has some nice better than average steps, and has good eye appeal. The steps on the coin in the Op is a very nice example of the closest that you can get.
Cripes, you could have at least imbibed an Lager..........Coors? Rocky Mountain (expletive). I used to drink the stuff though.......till I saw the light.
Thanks for the info guys! I am happy with it I was just curious if that mark in the center would disqualify this from FS automatically or if it stood a chance. I am aware of the FS designation and what it typically entails... just wondered if there were maybe exceptions. I know I have seen examples of certain years with the same issue that received FS where I also wouldn't agree based on the standard requirements of the designation. Thanks for the answers, knowledge, and opinions
And I'm sorry that I 'razzed' you old fellow, but you seem like a good sport, so a glass raised to you.......
