Please see the images of both obverse and reverse of this 2008 Canada $2 coin. I was told that this can't be a Mint Error because the way Minting of coins takes place and this must be due to some damage after the minting. However I am noting on the reverse metal lines at spaces between - A and N and D and A in CANADA, D and O and A and R in DOLLAR which could only originate from the mint. Would you please give your expert opinion. Thank you.

The outer ring does look interesting.. I'm not sure what that could be.. Stress cracks?

    Imho,
My guess is someone tried to pop out the middle. Then got frustrated and scratched it up.

    Welcome to ct!

It's damaged or man-made as you put it.
