I assume these are all spenders. Just wanted to be sure before taking them to the bank and depositing them. I don’t care about value, just whether any semi serious note collector would want any of them. @mpcusa @SteveInTampa Thanks for your input!
Thanks for the Tag Yes, i would tend to agree, the first thing you would have to consider is Condition that,s job #1 even on special notes or rare ones you have to Have certain amount of eye appeal or attract someone to the note, i see None of that here, most of the notes above would have a hard time achieving even VF-20 grade, a couple of the ones and two,s but that would be about it, best spent on a couple cases of beer or a few tanks Of gas
Boy I would like to be able to buy a box of beer and a couple of tanks of gas for that amount money. Maybe for the lawn mower. A tank of gas in good ol Canada runs close to 100 dollars never mind the beer. I would also keep the 20s put them away and spend the small denominations like @ ken454 stated. Dillan
Thank you for the insight. It's what I figured, just wanted to be sure. If a collector would want these, I'd want to keep them and swap them for a $20/$5/$1 they don't want. They are fun, but unfortunately, I'm not much of a note collector. Yes, I can spend them over here, as long as I go to the base. The difficulty in spending them here is how they made their way to me Thanks for the thought. I would like to keep some of them, but since I don't collect them, I just see money in hand as money not earning extra money in my investments. The top left $20 seemed very close to being an error, but no second note showing on the bottom. They're sure fun to look at though
Glad i could help From a collector stand point you could use these as fillers but that would be it or if you collect certain districts, but other then that They would all be spenders even the $20,s if the condition was Better maybe worth a second look.
The $1 with the high serial 998xxxxx is cut from a BEP collector sheet. That one ought to be worth a couple bucks' premium to somebody. The rest of them are probably safe to spend.
I agree with post #7. Even though there is a condition issue, and they are barely worth above face, the 1950 series is still worth keeping. And that is interesting about the high serial hand cut from a sheet.
The 2s are nothing special- there are still plenty of 76s floating around. The 1s are in good condition for age, so I would keep them along with the 1950 $20. The $5 is worn out and stained- spend it. And, the 1985 $20 is worth face value. I usually keep old bills like that, but that $20 is well circulated. All together, keep the 1950B $20, and the 2 $1 notes. Don't regret depositing the rest.
No Sir, this is unfortunately not coin money. This is family money, meaning I'm not the sole owner of it. Wish I were!
Cant tell the dates but did you check the $1s for webs. I was thinking the Bicentenial $2 were cool...until I saw @Legomaster1 's post
Yes. You should check the 1993 Lloyd Bentsen dollars for web notes: 1993 B 192 00001 H - B 256 00000 H May 1995 B 384 00001 H - B 448 00000 H May 1995 C 384 00001 A - C 448 00000 A Jun 1995 C 512 00001 A - C 576 00000 A Jun 1995 Confirm by checking the back plate number. Top one in photo is a web note. The bottom one is the standard plate number position. The Bentsens did jump out at me, but I passed over it. Good eye Tlberg.
I don't believe any are web notes. One can tell by looking at the front at the plate numbers, or lack thereof. Webs don't have a plate number on the left-side nor do they have a letter designation on the right. Unless I missed something none of the notes pictured have these web-signifying attributes.
I noticed there were some 1993 from New York (B) but I didn't check the serials. What about the Don Regan signature? Who is on the 1988A? Photos are too blurry.
