I know absolutely nothing about these Canadian cents, I always sit them aside when I find one and have acquired these in the short time I've been coin hunting. I was gonna put them up as a no reserve auction on Ebay, but before I do that, are there any of these dates that I should really look at closely before I just let them go? I would hate to lose a great find due to ignorance. This site has rly helped me out on anything I've had questions with....and I dont rly have time or the patience to go thru coins that dont interest me. Any standouts or varietys,keydates...transitionals...should I just toss them thru the parking lot, lol? Any info at all is much appreciated. Cheers
I believe for Canadian small cents the list of semi-key and key dates would be 1922 1923 1924 1925 1926 1927 1930 1936 Dot Below Date – This one is one you will not likely find in circulation 1955 Without Strap 1965 Large Beads & Pointed "5" 1985 Pointed "5" There may be others but these are the ones I know of.
The 2 George the VI 1940 and 1952 15 cents retail. The older one, the George the V 1935 .25-.40 cents.
Pre ‘97 is copper. There are magnetic and non magnetic, P’s and no P’s, W’s and WP’s, RCM logo’s and non, old effigy and new that are worth some premium. The site I use for identification purposes is: http://coinsandcanada.com/
