Bad metal mix?? ‘83D LMC

    Just come across this oddity. Aside from the PMD, any help with what might of happened to the reverse is greatly appreciated. Thx!

    1983 Cents were struck on Copper plated Zinc Cents. The copper on your cent was compromised exposing the zinc. That is called zinc rot. Just damage.

    I have found hundreds of damaged cents just like yours metal detecting. Exposure to the elements will create that issue.
