1964 Quarter Value

    I got a 1964 washington, about ms 64 for $3.50. I know it's worth more than that but could somone tell me more specifically what I could get for it from a dealer. (Coin Values said $10.00)

    I would say about $3.50, maybe.

    From a dealer you might get spot silver price. You would lose money on the deal.
    1964s are still sold as junk silver.

    A dealer would likely give you just the junk silver price for a 1964 quarter, which is close to $3.00 now, regardless of the condition. So $3.50 isn't a bad deal for a 40+ year-old silver quarter in such good condition.

    Maybe some day its condition will command a premium. But then again, I remember reading an article in (probably) Coins magazine back in the late '60s which recommended holding on to those '64s since they would be the first to go into the melting pot. Apparently, nearly 40 years later, there is still a huge supply of them.
