Apparently we know enough to spot an obvious fake when we see one. I don't care whether anyone else values my opinion or not; you're nothing to me. Apparently PCGS thought the coin suspect enough to recall it which answers the question: It's a dud. To borrow from Mother Laura's lingo (you seem to idolize her) it is below "expensive dreck."

No one may have an opinion on grading and how the TPGs operate, nor are they qualified to talk about TPGs if they’re not a certified grader at a TPG. Actually I would like to inspect the coin to give my full opinion. I don't think that CAC is in the business to correct anyone. Their business is to give the heads up on correct grades for the Market.
That's it.

 

So CAC has never put a note on a coin before about something that needed to be corrected or helped correct one from what you "think"?

 

Take this to a PM. This is not the appropriate place to take out personal vendettas. We don’t care about your intense desire to support PCGS or CAC. This thread is about educating others about a fake that both PCGS and CAC missed. Argue all you want, it doesn’t change their mistake. People make mistakes. Time to accept that they’re not infallible and move on.

Actually CAC didn't miss it as I doubt it was submitted. I expressed an interest in seeing whether CAC would notice as a matter of curiosity. It managed to escape detection by the PCGS graders and the finalizer. I wanted to see if it would sticker.

Anyway, don’t ever speculate about a TPG, unless you do so positively. Even though CAC doesn’t anything about evaluating authenticity on their website, @baseball21 knows everything about TPGs and you don’t, so only he/she can tell you what they do with fake coins, and you can be expected to be corrected with insults and rhetorical questions if you don’t agree with his/her opinion. He/she demands you show yourself and prove you’re an expert, while hiding under a bridge of anonymity, nipping at the heels of anyone who dare cross his/her path. Now run along and listen to what our dear PCGS defender says and everything will be fine.

Folks, I think we can finally get back to discussing the focus of the thread. Seems there are a few TPG certified fake coins out there and these threads do a great job informing us and reminding us to keep our eyes open. Buy the coin, not the slab.

 

Add me too, because you won’t like what I have to say. Since you’ve joined CT you’re only promoting PCGS&CAC, it appears that’s the only reason why you’re here. Somebody mentioned CAC and that’s why some of us thought the coin also had a sticker. It doesn’t mean we’re all morons.

...back to the topic: I personally believe PCGS made a mistake. Not a big deal though if they are going to correct it.
