Just received this addition for my collection, always wanted one of these big chunky types but with a nice Janus and good price, and Rudnik Numismatics answered my call with this beauty.
    Janus.jpg
Anonymous, 211-206 BC, bronze as (struck), 32mm, 40.64g
Obverse: Laureate head of bearded Janus, 'I' above
Reverse: Prow of galley r., 'I' above, ROMA in ex.
    Reference: Syd 143, SME 627, Cr 56/2
Grading: VF / F , sporadic rev. pitting, mostly even tan surfaces
Comment: Rather attractive massive early type. Ex - London Ancient Coins, Ltd.
    Acquired, Rudnik Numismatics, May 2019.

POST SOME OF THOSE JANUS OR GALLEY TYPES OUT THERE.

Really nice coin with a great obverse.. I have also been looking for one but it's difficult to find one with a nicely defined Janiform head at a reasonable price. Yours is excellent!

    Handsome coin, @Ancient Aussie.

I hope to have some heftier Republican bronze someday. They must feel nice in the hand.

Only recently added my first RR Æ- a mere semis.

I beg to differ. That's not just a "mere semis". That's a beautiful RR bronze.

This type honors the naval exploits of Publius Fonteius Capito, who was praetor in Sardinia in 169 BC. The obverse relates to the origin of the Fonteia gens, which claimed as its founder Fontus, the son of Janus, in whose honor the Fontinalia was held on October 13.

When you've got female janiform heads, is it "Janice" instead of "Janus"? :wacky:

Nice examples. Here is a cruddy, but unusual sestertius from Commodus, with Janus standing in a shrine:
