1988 D Distorted Obverse

    What caused the letters to be almost faded out. is this caused by grease in the die. Is there any value for this error.

    Welcome to Coin Talk. IMO struck through grease and/or very worn die.

    What about the WAM is that common on all 1988 D's I was told to look for that on the 1988D.

    The reverse die was deteriorated from wear.
