Bone, I've been thinking about you guys since I heard the news. I'm so glad your daughter is going to be OK. Hang in there.
Hope she gets feeling better---I really can't start to think about having a jaw wired closed....that is the part that would hurt me the most...not being able to eat everything I like to for the next little bit.... Was he DUI? Speedy
Ben: Hope all are well, and we will keep her and your family in our thoughts. You know that we are all here for you should you need anything!!! Best, mikenoodle
Sorry to hear this news, and I hope everything goes OK as she heals... but your point is spot on about where our priorities really lie. thanks for sharing and I wish you and your family all the best. (I too have two daughters and I can relate to exactly where you are.)
Hi Ben, For you, your missus and the young ladies, we wish you the strength you need, the healing of all wounds, and a full recovery for all of you. Bless you all. jeankay
2 Apr, 08 update// Just want to thank all of you for the positive thoughts and prayers. She's having to remain one more night (with Jen and her sister again) until they can get her jaw pain stabilized with something we can take home and administer here due to her jaw being wired shut for 5-6 weeks. On the bright side, her CT scan was clear which was some great great great news. The break on her right forearm required only a soft cast and there is nothing they can really do for the rib breaks. One tough kid, I've yet to see her cry from the pain... Basically the way I understood it was, they have to remove the morphine drip and see how she does for 12 hours after that taking regular (prescription/liquid) pain killers. Thanks again for all the positive energy.... Ben
A morphine drip, yikes. We had our hearts in our throats a couple of months ago when Thalia Elizabeth's school bus was rear-ended just as she was getting off of it -- and right in front of our house. I can't imagine what it must have been like to get that phone call. Our thoughts and prayers are with you tonight.
In light that otherwise she will be alright, I must admit I'd thought about wiring the jaw shut on some of my teens at times. I have 4 teens at the dinner table these days. I'm glad she is looking at a complete recovery. Next comes baces. That aint cheap and it aint covered. Ruben
keep us posted as best you can! we all wish you and you family the best of times ahead as your loved one gets better!!
Ben, Aine and I send prayers and best wishes for Jen and your entire family. A trying time to be sure...
Hopes and prayers go out to you and your family Bone. As the father of four daughters I do know what you are going through. Glad to hear things are somewhat stabalized regarding your daughter. Hang in there friend and hope to see you posting soon (always enjoy your posts). Ken
And we are stranger than most. I am glad to see your all home again. give your daughter my best wishes for a speedy recovery and make sure to have plenty of jello and pudding around. ( with a big straw)
I'm so sorry to hear of your daughters’ accident. I'm glad she is home and recovering. I'm sure all parents would agree that there is nothing in our life more important than our children. I can't even imagine how you and your wife must have felt when you first heard. It must be a great relief having her home. I hope she has a speedy recovery. God bless your family. Jack
