What is questionable to me is how they expect people to pronounce that. Well that does not matter, after a little studying about them. I cant help but think it would be an affordable series to start collecting. I purchased a peace dollar on Ebay, from a guy Ive purchased coins from in the past, he charges 3 or 4 shipping, so I go through his things other stuff listed to combine shipping so I feel better. Any how I keep seeing these Sacagewa dollars for sale cheap. a little higher than face value, for proofs and scratch free examples. certainly an under respected coin, so that's it, Ill collect them just to be different, and if all else fails, Ill just spend them (not really). but I don't see how I can loose, of course I am well aware that a lot of times my hick mindset is questionable. collecting something I cant pronounce. be it as it may, a new series is started for me. with my $4.50 dollar presidential proof set. Collecting is easy, remembering how to spell that without a spell checker, is another story.
As long as you are collecting them for your own enjoyment you can't lose. But if you are collecting them in the hopes of making money off them then you would be in for a disappointment. So just collect them for enjoyment and be happy.
I think my mother is one of the few that find these copper paper weights attractive. Im starting to like them, as I get more, will learn more about the series.
Are you buying the (Uncirculated 60) Sacagawea dollars from Littleton? How much are they charging for each of them? Chris
As I learned it : Sack-uh-ja-we-uh. Emphasis on the 1st and 4th syllables. But I've also heard it pronounced : Saw-cadge-uh-wah. Emphasis on the 2nd syllable. From TV commercials : " Only her hairdresser knows for sure ". or maybe a linguist. If you want to really get confused, try this link : what-is-the-correct-pronunciation-for-sacagawea.htm
My CU can't get rid of them. They have fresh uncirc rolls. They ask me if I want some every couple times I go in there to get uncirc strapped bills. Check with your local bank/CU they may be in the same position.
That sounds good, I will check with them, I think dad uses a credit union, my bank has jerks, sometimes. if you ask them to work.
