I personally would not go by the PCGS over priced, self promoting price guide. The list the coin at $225.00 in G4. Ithink the heritage price guide is a little closer at $135 to $175 in G4. I don't know how much you would have to deduct for the graffiti. It would be nice to have one as a type coin though.

As cool as it would have been, I think you would be happier with a scratch free coin.

the only time graffitti adds to the appearance of something is when it is on the side of a rail box car, IMO.

Its kind of sad. My Dad use to do signs back when signs need to be painted by hand. Kind of a lost art with all the computers now, but he always said that a lot of that crap he saw on those box cars had a lot of talent. Too bad it wasnt put to GOOD use,

Good advise....always save a little more and avoid problem coins....they will be a problem again when time to sell. Patience !!!

The bigger question is "How does one figure Fair Market Value for a coin ?"

Lots of answers - but for a problem coin, it's more complicated.

In general, I drop the grade one level for any problem - more for major problems (like this one).

So this one has VG details, major problems, net AG.

So look for market prices for an AG coin (auction results, greysheet, etc).
