hey guys, i found one more cheap seated liberty dollar online, how much would you pay for it? I think i can get it for $150. Let me know what you think asap.
Here is the PCGS price guide. http://www.pcgs.com/prices/PriceGuideDetail.aspx?c=29 A little high though...
I personally would not go by the PCGS over priced, self promoting price guide. The list the coin at $225.00 in G4. Ithink the heritage price guide is a little closer at $135 to $175 in G4. I don't know how much you would have to deduct for the graffiti. It would be nice to have one as a type coin though.
well, i missed it, it went for 127.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...item=120237718807&_trksid=p3984.cWAT.m240.lVI a couple others im interested in are ending within the next week, so i'll let you know about any others
the only time graffitti adds to the appearance of something is when it is on the side of a rail box car, IMO.
Its kind of sad. My Dad use to do signs back when signs need to be painted by hand. Kind of a lost art with all the computers now, but he always said that a lot of that crap he saw on those box cars had a lot of talent. Too bad it wasnt put to GOOD use,
Yeah I should of taken over the business...but thats like me telling you picking up dog crap you could make a million dollars, but if your heart isnt there to wake up at 5am and work till 5 pm then it just wont work.
Good advise....always save a little more and avoid problem coins....they will be a problem again when time to sell. Patience !!!
The bigger question is "How does one figure Fair Market Value for a coin ?" Lots of answers - but for a problem coin, it's more complicated. In general, I drop the grade one level for any problem - more for major problems (like this one). So this one has VG details, major problems, net AG. So look for market prices for an AG coin (auction results, greysheet, etc).
