WoW! Absolutely amazing design! Who cares about the grade? Just joking - I'm in the XF - AU camp, but leaning more towards XF.
It was a grading week in Munich, so it didn’t go too far. It’ll likely be a week before I get the coin back, so I’ll go ahead and reveal.
Thanks everyone for your patience! I don’t have the coin in hand yet, as NGC is very busy, but I can at least share the photos of the coin in the slab. The Grade came out exactly as I had hoped/thought. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/3938212-001/53/ I noticed there was a January auction that included an AU55 that sold for $1,900. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/2822838-005/55/ After seeing photos of it, I think it’s been cleaned and possibly tooled. I’m surprised it got an AU55, but it solidifies for me that I paid a good price for mine. I think mine was a slightly weak strike with a bit of dark toning, which is why it got AU53. Special thanks to @ma-shops for their platform where I found the coin (FYI, Künker listed it as XF). Also to @Rheingold and @micbraun for their opinions on grade and authenticity prior to my purchase, as well as for assisting with the submission. Totally worth still being on coin probation
Good job there, Seattlite86. I recall you saying you wanted to get some nice thalers whilst over there in the Vaterland.
Somehow I missed this until today. I was going to say 55-58. Beautiful coin. BTW, I like yours better than the one sold for $1900.
I'm with Lord M. Xf 45. The reverse stops it from maybe a low Au. Lots of detail. Looks like my worn out knees also
These were my thoughts exactly. Edit- after seeing the revelation- congrats, @Seattlite86! That's a win.
