I have a 1946 Nickel with no mint mark and looks like it might be silver. How can I tell if it has silver content?

That one is just dirty. Seen plenty of them. Reminds me of someone else who used to post here quite a bit regarding a silver 42 he thought he had. :banghead:

silver has a unique sound, its nickel and copper in a 46.

    Nope. Just discolored.

It's a CircCam, at least, though not a terribly appealing one.

Ugly, but kind of cool-ugly, I say.

Remember the silver content of a war nickel is only 35% still dropping it won't work it won't sound like a 90% silver coin
