Nice penny to find in circulation, but up close very blurry;) I see maybe a die chip behind the S but impossible to tell without very clear closeup.

Not a DDO.. But a DDD Die Deterioration Doubling. Worthless doubling.
Probably Die Chip in Mint Mark.

In these years of hand punched MM. If you see the same type of doubling on the devices as well as on the MM you can pretty much immediately remove it from the DDO and RPM category. This cannot happen in the minting process.

MS - 65RB , worth about way over the $3 bucks, but not too special of a coin. No Dlb Die that yr.

1955 S is very common in high grades.
I doubt this is MS-65 and more likely worth 0.75-1.25.

There absolutely was a doubled die cent in 55 just not with an S mm.

It can occur, but granted, very seldom

There is also a 69S with some MD that some experts believe is a DDO-001.
The over date though the doubling on the MM is actually an RPM-100
But I see my faults, even though the doubling on the MM doesn't look the same.:(

Sorry for the double post. Yes, I suspect the higher fainter one was the first and the person using the punch saw it was touching the 9 and then lowered and centered the punch for a strong one. The 60's were odd in the High country. It is even odder that it went along with a mistake in hubbing getting the small/over large date Jim
