I was just given near $30 of coins from a friend. But I do want to pay him some relative value of these coins, keeping in mind that I am not a grader. Four of the coins being a 1921D Morgan dollar, 1922P, 1922D and 1923S Peace Dollars. All possibly VF or better shape. There is one 1964D Kennedy Half Dollar, $18 in 1965 to 1970 Kennedy Halves, and $3.00 in 1970's Halves. Four Washington Quarters, 1946S, 1953D, 1964D and a Bicentennial. All well worn. In Dimes there is a 1943P and 1944D Mercury Dimes. $10 of early 1960's Roosevelt dimes which are all silver. No clads. Then, finally 2 ea. 1960 Jefferson Nickel's What would a somewhat broad value should I give him for these coins?
...but those dollars trade at at least $15 each. A bit under $2 each for the 40% Kennedy halves, face value for the clad halves and nickels, 10-11x FV for the rest of the 90% silver. If I did the math right in my head, around $250 or so. He'd get less than that at a coin shop, you'd pay more than that at a coin shop.
That's awesome, do something really cool for him. not sure you should place a dollar amount on the generous gift, Id repay him some other way. you know him best.
