I was under the impression that the marks on the coin.,That people received form the mint were grease marks . My freind is saying the a rub or scruff mark. Could any one link a article about it.
Send it back to the mint if you bought the set there, we don't know what marks you talk about without any pictures.
Any of those possibilities, blemish, rub, scruff , grease damage, etc. would not be an error, just poor handling after the coin was made. Only recourse is to return, but someone said the mint said all in shipment had to be returned, and not just the souvenir, so check. Jim
This article most likely answers your question: https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...eturns-of-proof-2019-w-premium-cents.all.html
It's been about 6 weeks since that article was written. Do you think the Mint has found what caused this blemish? I haven't heard anything since this article.
The mint has had multiple complaints of quality issues with 2019 w proofs, like to know also, most responses were to contact customer support. but I also don't know if they made changes to address the issues. I would think they did.
Haven’t heard, but likely because such an article isn’t as “interesting” as one that shows mistakes and failures.
