Its my 1880 Morgan dollar there is a die crack right under her neck And a one coming from the 0 to the rim. Could it be a vam? Or just a die stage? How can you tell if it's a vam or die stage? I've looked at the vams for this year not many. Just mainly the 80 over 79. Is it vams or varieties? Or is it the same thing? Let me know y'alls knoledge. Is my 1880 Morgan a type of vam?

After over 30 years of collecting Mint Errors I know absolutely nothing about VAM's! Not interested and never will be.. Too much! All I see is circulation wear.
All Morgan and Peace silver dollars are VAMs. Use VAM world to learn how to attribute. Die cracks, breaks, clashes, doubling, etc. Will all lead to a VAM of some type. Think of VAMs being the actual die pair that struck a particular dollar, and then you can break it down further into die state. That is all VAMing is really. @Shrews1994 Only a true VAMpire will sort through the eighty or so listings for this date/mintmark especially when the condition of the coin is not that good. Like @Evan8 said, all Morgan and Peace dollars are VAM's. But, you must also keep in mind that most VAM's do not carry much of a premium, if any at all! Chris
