I found this 68s in a roll earlier,when i first saw it it looked almost like it was gold plated...i didnt even touch it. On further inspection i realized it was an S,maybe its a proof coin?...idk.... So,i threw it under the scope and saw what you see in the images i provided. I tried to find a match in the varietys of this year with no luck,is this a doubled die? Any insight or opinions are appreciated.
Looks like a very nice Business Strike to me. The 68' cent was the last year for using the old master die, most have a high relief look. It was redone for 1969.
The main stem of the E in liberty and the left side of the 8 are really convincing and the main reason im questioning if it is a DD. Great info tho ty
