1881 Gold Ducat

I have a gold coin and I'm hoping someone can tell me it's worth. It seems to be in great condition.

Welcome to the forum! Most ducats are re-strikes so if yours is brand new looking, it could have been made within the last few years. As far as value, if you sell it on pebay you may get $175 then after all the fees, idk. good luck!

 

Thank you for your response. It's been in a box with some old documents -- I've been in possession of it for about 20 years, along with silver coin that I'll post separately.

If it's really old, like if you think it may be an original 1881. Keep it if you can!

 

I was thinking of selling it and wanted to make sure I had an idea of it's worth. I just posted another coin that was in the same box.

I know nothing about coins but I believe that the two coins have been passed down for generations.
