I'm doing a quick check since all but 2 of the rolls have those black carbon spots. Anything I should keep an eye out for with this date?

Yeah! Be sure to look for errors & varieties that are created during the minting process.

I'm not sure if you are seeing carbon spots on these, but more likely they are wash spots from the rinsing process which is very common ( and annoying ). In a full box of 50 rolls of 2018 P I found about four rolls of interesting "Feeder Finger" scrapes on the obverse directly in front of Lincoln in the right field. If you are into minor things, look for die cracks in the hair and on the reverse left top of the shield. Not much value in them but interesting if you like this kind of thing.

The error was getting 28 rolls of 2018 shield cents.
They make billions of these things. Even if there is some known error,
it would be difficult to determine at this time if it was rare or common.

Tell me about it. I was bummed when I saw. I feel like I have to do at least a quick look through though lol

You would be surprised at what you find. I had a whole box of 2018 jefferson nickels and went through them pretty thoroughly. Found a nice die break progression. It depends on what you are out to get when you are looking through this stuff. Do you want to make a quick buck? Leaf through them fast and look for the struck throughs, lamination errors, off center strikes, stuff like that. In all likelihood, you won't find much of any of those if you are even lucky. If you are looking to really get to know what you're doing, take your time with each one. Take breaks because your eyes will go crazy with all new coins! Trust me!
