It's a pretty coin even if not. Look at the extra material in the bottom loop of the S. Could I get some help grading and valuing it?
Wow, there's a line going through the S at the same angle as the S's line, but reflected! I think this might be more than a RPM...
It certainly isn't RPM-001, no signs of top 2 "S" from coppercoins.com and I do not think it is one at all. The small space between the body and ends of the "S" is on the die a thin wedge of steel thinner than any other area and is deteriorated faster than the other portions and extra metal shows up on the coin. The metal has to have the "S" shape and size to be such a RPM. AU grade IMO, Jim
The raised metal I think you see is where the die was worn or broken away in the thinnest area and thus raised on the coin. I mistakenly said above that is was the thinnest area, but the space between the B and E in LIBERTY of the cent commonly shows raised area that is called the BIE error when it is filled in, over 1500 known in cents, most in 1950s cents. Not at all, variety is the proper term, but it and error is often used similarly. But you have it in your hand, we go by the photos. I am sure you will hear from others. Good hunting. Jim
It looks like die chip to me. A common location for them. Lots of different die chip coins from the 50's.
