That is the most awesome piece I have seen in awhile. Have you ever tied your ancestry too those Highlanders? My own ties into Robert the Bruce.
Really, that Highlander piece just blows my socks off. I have little doubt that it was one of your ancestors there in Georgia. Yes, I have kinfolk thereabouts as well.
Unknown artist though I have tried to ferret it out. It's silver around 25mm and thick. Cold struck. Anyone with any ideas please let me know. I do have a suspicion that I still have to check out. I've owned it for around 15 years.
This telephone token is from Italy and has a MM of IPM. According to Numista that is for Arzano and the 7502 means it was struck in February of 1975. Depending on condition this one could fetch up to 10 Euros. I paid $1 US. I like it
From a recent discovery of our own when we moved our offices last year. This is an unusual group of token dies that were found languishing in a closet from a purchase decades ago. They appear to be mostly from bars, taverns and other businesses. All are different with some examples as follows: Carsons Tavern, Hazels Bar 1629 So 9th st, P williams 1106, "Mick the Irishman", Combination Cigar Store Terre Haute Ind, George and Mary's Bar. None are canceled but some have light rust. Cool stuff.
Could you please state the name of the town where the dies were found? Name of the minter too if known. Thanks so much.
Would love to if I had that information. They are from all over the midwest, at least the tavern names are. My guess would be several different minters.
