I recieved this in change today.... a 2007 D Lincoln cent... but it was pink and silver! The pictures are not great, but the coin has a much brighter pink/red in hand... the only part of the coin that has a copper color is the center of the memorial. Wierd, I assume something has been done to it... Tought I would show it and see if anyone else has seen this?

Maybe the roll was exposed to some type of chemical or something to cause to ring toning.....pretty neat, I'd keep it !!

Defiantly keep it until you can bring it to a dealer in person. That is a very nice tone.

Heat. I have seen zinc cents turn this and other colors when heated.

Maybe it was baked in the oven :)

Hehe - a baked penny! Well I know it has to be artificial toning coz i don't see any thing natural that could have done this in 1 year... but it still is pretty :) I'm keeping it anyways...
I don't know if the govenment bans baking pennies, otherwise maybe I'll put one in the oven and compare the result!

I can save you the trouble. I have done it myself by placing zinc cents on top of a kerosene heater. They turn some amazing colors.

A HOT cast iron skillet and you can pull them out at different colors depending on how long you leave them in.
