Later in life, the garnet will mean more to you because it was your grandmother's birthstone.

I only have photos and that places limits but it looks like:
Top photo looks like 2 garnets with a diamond or white sapphire
2nd photo no idea from the photo
    3rd photo matched peridots (earrings)
4th photo amythest on the right
Is the stone on the left flat on the other side? If so it's cut as a cab but I can't identify it.

Way to go @Shrews1994 ! I agree with the folks who said the garnet, for two reasons: your grandmother's stone, and your first ring find. A double-winner IMHO.

What state are you living in? Here in Minnesota our farms in the far southern half of the state go back to 1840, more or less, but up north where we live the first homesteaders arrived with the railroads in the 1880s.

I might have missed it, but what detector did you decide to go with?

I'm stumped on this one. Looks like the light reflects beautifully through it. Also looks like a pale reddish pink. Have them mounted into a pair of earrings along with the tri- shaped peridot. Possibly a beryl or topaz if some sort?

Yeah I can't find anything on it either. In a way they look like a pale orange or a dark peach color I dont know. She didn't tell me.

Nice finds Shrews. go to NH beach metal detecting. This is what I do mostly, beach hunting. I have found silver chains, and silver coins, no gold yet. The guy that does the videos I know, and I am in the one where he finds the mans diamond ring on new years day. Lots of fun.

I went to review some notes I made about this ring. It was made by Mom for Dad from a tie tack of my father’s father. It was set in a 14k ring but the tie tack was gold plated. the diamond in the mouth was from one of my paternal grandmother’s jewelry and in the eyes are the original ruby and sapphire. The ring was “lost” in a bunch of fish guts when parents came back from fishing one day. It was thought to have been in the garbage set out for pick up. That was after I asked Dad if I could have the ring (since he did not have any male family members in mind). Then, about a year later, the ring mysteriously reappeared. Between me and my Dad, it was never really “lost.” G-d rest both of their souls. D856654F-9247-434F-BC33-D45A5C47146F.jpeg

Hey guys!!! I received my metal detecting license (permit, whatever) today!!! But it's only good until the end of the year! I checked in my area and there are no clubs. @Shrews1994 ..do you go out alone? Do you feel safe?

Nice finds - all I've dug up so far is a worn out buffalo nickel - and I think Green looks great.

    Awesome, @Shrews1994 - congrats.

I like the look of the garnet, myself. When I was a kid, we used to find them in the stream by my grandfather's place.

PS- the peridot looks great, too. I love how you have loose gemstones lying around. I have a thing for loose colored gemstones, for some reason. Never collected them, but always liked them.

Nice find! I only dug three large cents in my digging career.

I don't collect them either they were just giving to me havent went out and got more. They just look cool like on a pirate movie finding a bag of jewels or a treasure chest full of them lol
