Someone either really dislikes you or really loves your taste in coins. Atleast you got a win out of this one. Just a shame you have to go through so much extra work when buying on ebay.
Is this not happening to anyone else here on CT? Have you not heard of it happening to anyone else you know?
I have not had this, but I have had shill bidding and then canceled and then relisted coins to get more money in the auction.
Never to me, that I know of. I've had sellers cancel and relist sometimes, but usually because they realize they missed a cherrypick.
I know you explained why you want to use your original user name, but isn't it time to get another account for buying? It would save a lot of hassle, especially since ebay doesn't want to help
I don't believe that's necessary because I don't think he's targeting me in particular I think I'm just one of several different people all trying to buy the same material. He happens to think it's okay to let us do the work of first identifying the right coins to buy, or figure out just how high to bid, and then he sneakily steps in, gets our purchases canceled, and buys them for extra money, sometimes requesting a partial refund or a return for full refund afterward. In any case, he's depriving us of the rewards for our efforts. I suppose I could have different usernames as buyer and seller like so many other dealers do, but think it is better to be perfectly transparent.
I've never had it happen to me (knock on wood). And youre the only one I have heard of with this problem. How do they know it's you buying? Doesnt Ebay block out the purchaser handle?
The same way I know it's him . . . I track the combination of both the letters outside the three asterisks in his masked username and his total feedback count.
