Awesome finds, I like the Garnet, but that's my birthstone as well!

I have a weird collection of no value things found (only in last two years)
    IMG_20190501_213052256.jpg

but some things I found was silver or gold made. I found some gems as a 40 carats blue topazio (25 years ago)

and little diamonds (very little stones)

@Shrews1994 I think the peridot looks better in that ring. Since that's your birth stone and you found the setting I think that is a perfect match. Nice looking garnet. May I ask where you got those stones?

if it is 42.9% silver...what would be the other metal in it, most likely?

No way to know unless you had it tested. Some of the alloys that are commonly used for silver jewelry can be:

    copper (the most common alloy)
    zinc
    cadmium
    tin

I'll post a pic of the one I've got that sounds exactly like yours, if you post a pic of yours ;)

Here's the one I inherited. This one has the diamonds in the eyes with the ruby in the mouth. Maybe ours are related. :)

Cool finds I like what your doing and if I can give you a bit of advice on where to search since I have no idea where you live at or search at. When going out metal detecting try and look up the local history of the town and property your detecting at it can give you a good reference on what you could possibly find

Judging by your photos they are very nice looking stones, they look gem grade. Go with the green.

I tried a borrowed metal detector in my back yard. My big hit wound up being a garbage can lid.
