1878 1$ coin

    would anyone happen to know how much this roughly would be worth and what are the diff between gold and silver is one more valuable or rare versus the other?

    About $40 if it’s real another cleaned. I can’t really tell from the blurry pics. Is 1878 7 tail feathers. I’d call it xf. It’s silver. A total difference than gold. They didn’t make Morgan dollars in gold

    If the reverse in the images belongs to the obverse, then it is a counterfeit. There are no 1878-S Morgan Dollars with a reverse of '79. As far as how much it would be worth? I'd say it's worth however much the melt value of the metal is was made of.
