1884 carson city silver dollar

    I am curious what this is worth, can anybody give me info? I emailed a local coin shop and without seeing it they guessed they'd pay about $190.

    In my area that would retail for about $250-$275. It's a GSA with original packaging. Very nice.

    Completely agree. Keep that original packaging. That is very desirable to a collector.

    Welcome to the neighborhood @BlueFish42 !

    I don't like to guesstimate value from photographs, but it doesn't do much good for anyone to guess a value based just on the obverse of any coin. It is best if you take photos from directly overhead of both sides of the coin.

    $190 is not bad for a dealer buy price given an average MS63ish coin.

    Yup, Chris, I think this was one of the original intents of the grading companies...once it is slabbed, you don't even have to look at it.......riiiiiight!
