I've done some 'Googling' and don't see any reference to this error. Just too common to mention? Sorry about the flash. Any thoughts?

    Looks like:
    1902-O VAM-1 Closed 9

Discovered by George Mallis, June 1965.
    1 III2 1 - C4a (Closed 9) I-1 R-2
Obverse III2 1 - Normal die with closed 9. Some specimens show base of 2 filled in.
Reverse C4a - Mint mark centered and upright.

Way to go Mr Waterstraat! That was very nice of you.
Hey my friend has an 1883-O, what's the VAM on this coin, and I'll check it out.

There could be any number of VAM designations.

Your best bet, if you are a Morgan-man, is to invest in a VAM Encyclopedia, get the latest date if you can, it will have most updates. That and VAM World will help you through most of the Morgans and Peace dollars you run across...Spark

Thanks Spark. Yea the Morgan Encyclopedia and the Red Book are my next two big purchases.
