    This is the first in a series of miscellaneous Medallions, Plaquettes, etc;
    my assortment of larger exonumia...in no particular order.

    ~2½ inches x <3/16 inches; ~112 grams
    No edge mark (feels & looks like silver).
    Obverse: (L to R) John Pintard, Founder & Egbert Benson, First President;
    At rim near Benson's shoulder is (barely legible): Bremmer.
    Reverse: The New York Historical Society 1804-1904;
    & It Is Delightful To Recall The Past.

    I plan an inquiry email to TNYHS for clarification of material.

    Thanks, Chris, for pushing. wlw

    A lot of medals are "silvered bronze". However, if it was really silver, I would think that it would be so noted on the edge.

    I'm not able to say with certainty, but I doubt that it is.

    Turns out their website contains no reference to an email address as a contact. I'll try a phone call, first of the week.

    Changed your images to full size instead of thumbnails, since I did that on one of your other posts.

    I lied...there certainly is an email address on their site.
    I just used it to enquire about this medal.
    With any luck, their response will be posted here soon! wlw
