Umm... hey, here's an idea... maybe she wants to know what it's worth? Ya think? Unfortunately, as it is, very little. As mentioned, it was soldered onto something, and yes, it is a damaged cent, so it is worth only a few cents monetarily. Its only value is as a curiosity, since it does happen to be 121 years old. I would remount it in some kind of jewelry or art piece, with the good side (obverse) facing out. The solder damage permanently ruins any numismatic value the coin would have had (which would have been modest anyway, even if it were an undamaged coin in that grade). So it's forever destined to be a jewelry piece instead. If artistically reused in some new piece of jewelry or sculpture or whatever, it would be worth more as "art" than it would ever have been to a coin collector, anyway.
@lordmarcovan, since I have your post in front of me and the OP added a quite useless questionnaire (so many new members on CT add silly or useless ones): could there be a note at the bottom of the link for a new post that a survey/questionnaire is NOT necessary if a question is posed in the body of the thread? Yes I've seen that quite often too. It would make sense because at certain times, It almost appeared to me that the questionnaire or poll was just part of the process.
Gently remove the solder and it may be worth a dollar. I G-4 it's good for approx. $3. Sorry, still a nice find. I'd keep it.
While it's true there's something about the message posting form that makes new folks think a poll is necessary (which results in some nonsensical polls, like this one), and while the addition of a line of explanatory text might help (or not), I think that's developer-level stuff, since it would require some kind of amendment to the software, I'm guessing. I wouldn't know, since such technical things are beyond my scope. Maybe it's something @GDJMSP could discuss with @Peter T Davis, but I wouldn't think it would be terribly high on their list of priorities. We may just have to continue seeing wacky polls posted by confused newbies.
