Helvetia is looking hott! (That may just be an unintended side effect of spending saturday night on Cointalk!)
Both are awesome. I especially like the portrait on the second one! Even on a lazy Sunday morning Helvetia IS HOT! Andy
Always liked the Vreneli design, something about it always struck me as being just perfect to typify the image of Switzerland. :thumb:
Sure, these days they might rather put one of those anorexic celebs on the coins. Actually the original design of that was a little different, with a younger Vreneli. But the Swiss government then decided that the woman who represented Switzerland on those pieces should have a more maternal look ... Christian
Real women do not look skeletally skinny, they are healthy and vibrant. The ideal of the feminine form in the popular media is determined by persons which really do not care for how most women really are and should be. And the maternal look is not negative, but positive IMHO. For instance the original St. Gaudens $20 design depicts a decidedly more curvaceous female, than on the modern AGE's. In my opin they dumbed down the design, for alleged modern tastes.
