In December, I bought 4 Cam Frankies in an Ebay live sale. Seller was a nightmare from the begginning. Shipped me 4 circ Kennedys instead. I filed all proper claims, everything by the book. 2 months later..... Claim denied without comment. Seller keeps my $142 and the Frankies....I get to spend the $2 he shipped me. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I am sooooo freakin tired of Fleabay and the arrogance and outright disregard for fraud and scams. Hey gang, sold my first 2 orders on my new site. I'll be leaving the bay soon for all except a cpl token auctions a week to keep the name out there circulating untill the site stands on it's own. Mrs. AJ is going to do an appeal of some sort and file with the AG, I'm walkin away from this, my lack of patience and temper gets the best of me in situatuions like this. Let the legal eagle take over.
Jack, I hope you have success with your appeal. Paypal has the most infuriating customer service/policies I have ever dealt with.
Sounds like an easy case to side with your so what was their reasoning for NOT doing so? I have had paypal since it was created (actually pre paypal was x.com and then came paypal and they bought x.com) ........ anyway, I have never had a problem with them and hearing these horror stories scares the crap out of me! Good luck!
Your whole nightmare and a couple of my own is why I have stepped off the whole ebay coin buying/selling system. I hope you get some satisfaction but in reality you could spend more in litigation then it is worth to do so. Good luck in the future. I for one am sticking to dealing with people I can get my hands on. Keep on Collecting!!! Allen
Jack, I'd suggest you contact PayPal ASAP and get IRATE. It worked for me once when a scam seller sent me something other than what I'd ordered... Take Care Buddy Ben
Good luck to the misses! And don't forget, PayPal is a legal financial institute and must be properly registered with the State's regulatory agency. This also means that they must comply with not only State safety and soundness rules, but also with federal regulations including "Reg E" (having to deal with EFTs) as well as "Reg AA" which may cause them problems with federal regulators. Again, good luck! And don't forget to intimidate them just a bit by contacting the Postal Inspectors' office and file an official mail fraud complaint. Send PayPal an email and written notice with the complaint number and demand that they give full cooperation with any resulting investigation. They don't like the idea of having to deal with a criminal investigation.
I have had a few dealings with paypal and they have always been nice and very prompt in taking care of everything. This really shocks me. But then again, mine were cut and dry, guy said he never received item, his delivery signature said otherwise. Also had a dealing with a certain Franklin halve dealer awhile back who sends out XF coins as choice BU, when questioned about it, he says his photos are stock. (Power Seller) Bad bad seller.
Jack, I wish you luck and know you're already ticked off but I have to ask this question again. Why is Paypal so great? This question is for everyone. I met a seller once that lost a Paypal battle. He lost a $2000 watch and the money to pay for it. I've never had a problem with Paypal because I've never used them.
I am sorry for your frustration! I am surprised to hear you lost the claim though! Paypal usually sides with the buyer. Being a large seller yourself, i am sure you see that alot as well. So for paypal to side against you.... i dont understand why! Good luck to Mrs. Arizona Jack with her indeavors to settle this!
Jack, I am sorry that you are having trouble with the Claim! I on the other hand, have nothing but Kudo's for their handling of my Dispute Claims over the years! I have always called them personally to find out where I stand on a situation and they advised me what to do and how to do it. Most of my funds for payment of an item were returned within a few days and no more than a week and a half from the time that the Dispute Claim was filed. You might want to double check with them about the Dispute as I received a bogus email that looked like it was from PayPal during the Dispute process on my last Claim, telling me that my money would be refunded but first, I had to return the coin. Well, I called and talked to a PayPal Representative and he stated that they had not sent me an email, for me to do nothing until I received the refund into my Account and for me to send the bogus email to their' Spoof email address. So, you should contact a PayPal Representative by phone to confirm whether the email was from them and if it was bogus and can be traced back to this Seller or a crony working for him or her, then he or she will have even more trouble on theur hands. Frank
Sorry to hear about your problem. But just one more reason I don't use ebay or paypal. I wonder if they too have outsourced their customer services to India. I once had AOL and tried for months to get an answer to something. After 53 attempts I gave up. Maybe Paypal is now outsourced there also. However, as frustrating as it may appear, keep at it or it will get worse.
That sucks Jack...also that's weird that paypal actually sided with the seller. Hope you can get it resolved...
Sorry to hear about your paypal experience. I only appealed once and was denied. I was denied because they said I missed the 45 day appeal limit. I was ****ed because I was in contact with the seller during the 45 day limit then would not communicate with me after that. Since this was my first incidence, I was not aware of the time limit. That was 3 years ago and now I never let things go more than 2 weeks. The seller went from great to a nightmare within a few weeks. Don't know what happened, but a lot of people got screwed. I went as far as to file a complaint with the FBI. This became federal jurisdiction once an Internet sale was made across state lines. They ended up finding the people and called me to come down and testify. I ended up not going because I would have spent more to travel to Tenn from WV than what I paid for the coins ($30). I hope things work out for you..... remember you can always go to the FBI's Internet web site and file a complaint. Good luck. I didn't use the word that the system thought I used, but it works for me.
Just so you don't feel alone and out your hard earned money , I too am dealing with an as*hole from ebay to whom I sent a $155 personnal check for a coin ( he didn't accept Paypal ). This is probably the most I had ever spent on 1 Ebay item and I've make over 500 purchases. The guy sends a message saying he received the check , cashes it , and has since disappeared. No responses to me or Ebay and his telephone number is no longer in service. This guy had a 400+ feedback with a handful of negatives from a few years past , so I didn't foresee a problem. Looks like I may be wrong. I can't wait to hear the final BS story from EBay about how it's a personnal check and they will not reimburse my loss. I can tell you this , if that happens they will not see another dime from my pocket.
Yep..... find it strange that they sided with a seller on this. Long story, but I did everything by the book, followed all the rules and steps they told me to take. I also filed complaints that seller charged me an extra 4% to accept paypal, which also went ignored by both PP and Ebay. This one stings as bad as the last Ebay fiasco, in which Mark Feld and myself were both forced to keep neg feedback left by a fraud seller, long since kicked off of Ebay. My only 2 negs from a crook, lol, and now this. Live and learn. It is $142, alot of cash to some, piddly to others, but it's a PRINCIPLE thing to me. Mrs Aj is like a pitbull when wronged, lol....sick'em Sheila !!!
this is why i refuse to shop on ebay or a lot of other sites like this SCAMS sorry to hear about your luck Arizona Jack hopefully the appeal goes good luck on your store, stainless
I've been waiting four months for PayPal to resolves a dispute I had with a seller. The guy had pretty good feedback so according to PayPal I was covered up to $2000 and they basically said that they would refund my money, only they seem to waiting to get money back from the seller which WON'T happen. PayPal and eBay are great when things don't go wrong, but when they do... oh boy.
