Coin damage?

    It looks like it might be damage, but the lighting and the position of your camera make it difficult to tell.

    Try placing the light sources at 10 & 2 o'clock at a 45 degree angle to the subject and your camera directly above the anomaly. Then crop out all of the unnecessary background and resize the image before you post it here.

    Yes, in the second picture it appears the coin has received a bad scrape.
