Looks like honest wear. Series 1928G $2 note was part of a 12-subject sheet. The following series, 1953 $2 started the use of 18-subject sheets.
Learning a lot in a short time here. I know I risk rath & ridicule...but in the case of this specific note wich is only good for display...any thoughts on cleaning?
I can't delete the post- so My thought was to flatten out 2 coffee filters, place the bill between them & lock them in an embroidery hoop. Then set the hoop in my ultrasonic parts cleaner with some undetermined cleaning solution. Would have been very gentle..
Don’t mess with its patina. The years of soiling go well with all the folds and handling marks. Looks evenly worn.
I didn't find that note I bought it like 5 years ago for a very cheap price at a used goods/antique store
If you try to clean it you will only ruin it. It will be unnaturally whiter, or in this case, it will rip, etc.
