Here is a coin which I've been looking at for a few days and the seller finally agreed to part with it for VF cash. Now I just have to wait for the USPS. The pictures are a little iffy but check out those rims... Yeah Baby. :D What are your opinions/feedback?

    Thanks for looking
    Ben

That looks like an awful nice coin for VF cash. Nice strike too! Probably dipped, but you knew that, and most of them have been. As usual, I'd be looking for remaining luster when it arrives...Mike

Thanks for the comments Lead and DJ. Yes, Im' sure it's been cleaned at some point but the variety is needed for the old BCBHDC and his pictures seemed washed out, I'm hoping the coin is a little darker. The return policy is great as well if it arrives not what I'm expecting.

Here is the current collection minus this coin. 130 CBHs and 120 Varieties with an average grade of VF-30.

Nice catch at a VF price.

Since you seem to be able to identify varieties, would you be willing to look at my 3 and ID mine?

The only one which I can attribute for you is the (GREAT LOOKING) 1807, which appears to be an O-112, R-1. The other two 1837 and 1838 aren't really (IMO) considered CBHs and I don't have the resources available to provide any information.

They are however fantastic looking coins.

Wow - nice coin Ben. And at VF money - very good deal. Kanga my book only goes to 1836, but I think it is a O-112. Notice I said think - you can look at some examples on Heritage the 50/20 I believe are O-111 and O-112. The reason I picked O-112 is that the B in Liberty is completed. Very nice coins - all of them.

Nice pickup there Ben! 0-109 R1. I am amazed at how you keep finding these deals. I just dont have the time it takes I guess.

Kanga, Ben hit this one on the nose.

Its an 0-112. Notice the dot on the NE corner of the shield? that was a centering point used on this particular die. Also see the 5 in 50 is inverted.

The 38 and 39 are considered reeded edge Busties. I too don't have a resource to attrib them.

I have circled the key diagnostics for you on the 07.

Thanks Jim, You nailed the 1818 O-109 w/o a doubt. An easy coin to find if you already have one but a tough one if you don't have it, LOL. ;) And, this was one I needed...

Great diagnostic workup on the 1807 too. Very informative and easy to understand. :)

Thanks for the variety on the 1807.
I don't have the book so that's why I asked.
Only speciality books I have are the half cents, two cents and half dimes.

All three coins are from my typeset.

    Thanks.
    It's a pretty good typeset.
The 1807 is my second oldest coin.
My oldest is an 1804 half cent.
So, except for that half cent I don't have any Draped Bust or earlier coins.

I went for grade rather than completeness.
I wanted everything to be XF or better.
I wanted people to get a good idea of what the coins looked like originally.
    Got close.
    Only 3 VF's.

And high priced types were skipped too.

The 7070 is a fun set no doubt. I am missing the trade and seated dollars to finish mine, all XF+. Not high dollar coins just havent found my special ones yet.. : )

Dang BHD's have really got my interest right now. Actually thinking about selling my second Morgan set and buying LOTS more BHD's.. LOL.. I am not an addict, I am not an addict, I am not...

Good luck! It took me almost 3 years to find a nice trade dollar. Longer than that for the seated dollar -- and I'm still looking!...Mike

    p.s. I love your 1807!!!!

    Question.
How many holes does the Dansco 7070 have for Seated Liberty halves?
I put my typeset together based on the Red Book.
I ended up with 6 Seated Liberty halves.
