What are your favorite representations of Lady Liberty on coins? There are many outstanding examples from the Americas, Liberia, and the Philippines. (Other places I'm forgetting?) Here is my personal favorite: My #2 would probably be the U.S. Peace Dollar.
Marianne, known as the symbol of France, is portrayed on many coins and medals. This is my favorite of her standing before the French Senate. Chris
This is my favorite representation of Marianne for the 1900 World's Fair & Olympics held in Paris and designed by Jules Clement Chaplain. Chris
Ah, of course, Marianne! I like her as "La Semeuse," the sower. I am not as big a fan of her depiction on the Great Seal of France, which is used on the French Indo-China piastre. Perhaps it has something to do with the strike on that coin, but her nose seems poorly defined, or perhaps easily worn.
Speaking of the depiction of Liberty on the Piastre... and, yes she seems to attract marks on her face -- I looked at dozens before choosing this one.
